Board & Video Games – mental stimulation

Music  – Avid listener, obsessive show goer, not a musician, but dabble in Ableton, collector of vinyl that I like

Film – Special soft spot for the independent film, but will not turn down blockbusters. My film list is here.

Writing – I write weird science fiction stories and about some other character who won’t leave my brain

Travel – I went to Europe in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Pandemic kind of killed travel for a while , but hope to do it again soon.

Word Clouds

I wrote scripts to scrape lyric sites to grab the websites containing lyrics for Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead. I used awk and sed to clean the data and remove html tags. I put words on single lines and used Tableau to analyze frequency and create word clouds.

I did the same thing with the television show Frasier. An unfinished version can be found here.

Future work involves further cleaning the data to remove stop words and some script notation.

Other

I was a lead panelist for Cats of Anime and The Works of Junji Ito at Ohayocon in Columbus and ACEN in Chicago.
